Card Deck Design: “Endangered Birds Collection”

Task:
Design a custom card deck that showcases a blend of typography, illustration, and graphic design, with each suit representing a different endangered bird species.

Big Idea:
The concept behind this project is to blend art and conservation, using the medium of playing cards to raise awareness about endangered species. Each suit symbolizes one of four endangered birds:

	•	Spades: Snowy Owl
	•	Diamonds: Turkey Vulture
	•	Clubs: Peregrine Falcon
	•	Hearts: White-Necked Crow

Through the intricate combination of typography and hand-drawn illustrations, this card deck becomes more than a functional tool—it’s a visual and educational experience that captures the beauty and urgency of wildlife conservation.

Deliverables:
The 52-card deck features individually crafted designs, where the interplay of typography and illustration creates a cohesive visual language for each suit. The project won the Typography and Illustration Award at the American Advertising Awards 2023, celebrating its creative execution and impact.
